More Updates For Microsoft Windows Azure Released

With more and more users going into the use of cloud computing, the popularity of the Microsoft Azure platform is on the rise. However, this also means that Microsoft has to release occasional updates, taking in to account the increasing demand for their cloud-computing platform. As usual, Microsoft provides excellent support services, with the support website and the Microsoft Support phone service.

About the Microsoft Azure Cloud computing platform

Windows Azure is Microsoft’s attempt to get a stronghold in the cloud computing market. Microsoft already have the Windows SkyDrive cloud storage service, and many of its software packages are now available as an online subscription service. Windows Azure takes all this one step further, and makes it possible for Microsoft to provide the IT infrastructure as well as a whole array of software programs through their cloud network.

Windows Azure also acts a development platform for the software developers to create apps on, for cloud computing needs. Indeed, this is the main feature of Windows Azure, where it would provide all the tools required for the developers to create such apps for the Windows platforms.

About the Microsoft updates for the Windows Azure platform

Released back in February 2010, Windows Azure was updated every few months or so, adding more tools and support to help software developers insert new features to their cloud applications. The just-released Windows Azure update includes notification hubs, disaster recovery and SQL Server AlwaysOn support to the platform.

The Notification Hub, as the name suggests, can be used to send notifications to multiple devices using an API call. The SQL Server AlwaysOn support would improve SQL Server deployments using the Virtual Machines in Windows Azure. The newly introduced Auto Scaling feature will help developers scale down the instances based on a time setting.

Also, there are many other features and options added to the Windows Azure platform, as well as improving the already present features in the platform. These new changes would help Microsoft take this platform to even more software developers who are developing cloud-based apps.

Also, Microsoft has added more server support for their cloud network. This means even more storage space is now available online, through the Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft cloud platforms.
