How To Enable Frames In Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer from Microsoft is a widely used web browser that has attracted many users worldwide because of its functionality and ease of use. Despite having many advantages and features, it can sometimes display error messages while browsing certain sites.

Difficulty viewing Webpage frames

When you are using Internet Explorer to view a Web page, a blank page may be displayed instead of a defined set of frames. If you right-click an empty area of the Web page and then click View Source, or if you right-click an empty area of the Web page, click Properties, and then click Analyze, you may receive the message: “This document might not display properly because there is a FRAMESET within the BODY of the document.”
The page author can resolve this problem by:
  • Removing the BODY tag.
  • Ensuring that there is no additional HTML code between the HEAD of the document and the FRAMESET.
Internet Explorer comes with the option to enable frames, which are an extension to the HTML of a website. This extension allows the website to display several pages in a single browser. Follow the below mentioned Internet Explorer support guidelines to fix webpage display issues while browsing the net.

Adjust the security settings on Internet Explorer
  • Go to the Tools menu located at the top of the Internet Explorer window, and select Internet Options from the popup menu.
  • This will open the Internet Options window. Click on the Security tab. 
  • Under the Security tab, locate and click on the green mark for Trusted Sites. Further, click on Custom Level.
  • Locate the option for "Navigate windows and frames across different domains". Select the circle next to Enable to activate this option, and click the OK button. This will display a dialog box that asks whether you wish to change the setting. Click Yes to confirm and further click the OK button. 
Enable the Compatibility View in Internet Explorer
  • Go to the webpage that is not working.
  • Now go to the Tools menu on the Internet Explorer menu bar and click the option Compatibility View from the popup menu. 
  • This should fix the problem with the webpage display. Refreshing the page would enable you to have a proper view of the webpage on your computer screen.
