Microsoft To Provide Longer Support For Windows Phone At Enterprises

Microsoft decided to double the support for Windows Phones from 18 months to 36 months and it stated that the company would be providing an Enterprise oriented update pack for the operating system in the second quarter of the year 2014. One could clearly see from these attempts made by Microsoft that the company is striving hard to make the Windows Phone sales boom.

The head of Microsoft partner and channel marketing Mr. Tony Mestres was quoted saying the following comment in a recent event, "[These give] business customers the confidence to invest in Windows Phone today, with the knowledge that their investments are secure, and the platform is evolving to be an even better choice for business."

According to most of the analysts, this new offer will definitely act like putting salt on the wound of Blackberry. According to the latest news acquired from the Microsoft support phone number, the opportunity for Microsoft is high as most of the companies are now deploying company owned devices to employees and they will definitely prefer Windows Phone 8 with the new offer in place.

Mestres also stated in a blog post that the company would be releasing incremental updates for the devices in a regular fashion. However, he failed to mention the time frame when the company is planning to release the updates and the number of updates users will be getting after the increased support period. However, we were able to know from Mestres’s own words that the upgrade availability will vary in nations and is purely dependant on the manufacturers, as Microsoft does not control the availability of updates for mobile devices yet.

However, one of the support engineers at Microsoft support phone number told us, “This problem [of carriers and OEMs not upgrading the OS] isn't as true for Microsoft as it is for Android. For the most part, the [Windows Phone] upgrades are going out, something you can't say for Android. And with most Windows Phones being sold by Nokia, I can't imagine Nokia not upgrading."

Well, it has to be true, as Nokia is now owed by Microsoft and they will be upgrading the devices in a timely fashion. One could also think about this being the reason behind Microsoft’s acquittal of Nokia. With the feature pack promised to release in 2014, Windows devices will be unstoppable.
