Steps To Access Yahoo! Mail Plus Using Outlook Express

Setting Yahoo! Mail on Outlook Express will allow the user to read, send and receive the Yahoo! email with Outlook Express. Follow the simple steps below to set up Outlook Express help with ease.

Outlook Express help guidelines 

Launch the Internet Accounts window. To open the Internet Accounts window, click on the label that reads Tools and then the label Accounts.
Select the Mail option. Now hit the Add option to add a Mail account. This will open the Internet Connection Wizard.
Enter your name into the text space next to the label that reads Name. Remember, the name that you are entering here would appear in the email messages that you are sending. When you are done entering your name, hit the Next option. This will open the Internet E-mail Address section.
Now, enter your Yahoo! Mail Plus email address (example@yahoo.com). Hit the nest option when you are done. This will open the E-mail Server Names section.
Follow the steps briefed below to set up the Email server details.
o My Incoming mail server is: set POP3 as the Incoming mail server.
o Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server:  Enter pop.mail.yahoo.com as the Incoming mail server.
o Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: Enter smtp.mail.yahoo.com as the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server.
o Hit Next when you are done setting up the Email servers. The Internet Mail Logon section opens.
Enter the details briefed below into the Internet Mail Logon section.
o Account Name: enter your Yahoo Email address
o Password: enter your desired password
o If you want your Outlook account to remember your Outlook Express account password, place a tick mark in the box next to the label that reads Remember Password.
o If checked, uncheck the box next to the label that reads Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
o Click Next. The final section of Internet Connection Wizard opens.
To save the changes made and to exit the setup wizard, hit the Finish option.
From the Accounts Window, select the label pop.mail.yahoo.com. once you are done selecting pop.mail.yahoo.com, select the option Properties.
Click on the Server option. Select the label that reads My server requires authentication to Custom-set the Outgoing Email server details.
Hit the OK button to save the changes made.
Click Close to close Internet Accounts.

  • Enter a name that will appear on your emails and proceed to the next step, by clicking on Next. The Internet E-mail Address page will appear; enter your email address in it and click Next.
  • You need to set the incoming and outgoing mail servers for your account. For work email, if you have no idea about the mail server, contact the tech support of your company to get the information. Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will provide the server details for other types of account; after this, click the Next button.
  • Enter the username of your account, and the password, in the Internet Mail Logon page, and check the box labeled Remember password. Click Next button and complete the configuration process by clicking on the Finish button.
  • In the Internet Accounts window, click on the button marked as Properties, and again select the tab labeled Servers. Check the box beside the label My server requires authentification, and bring the necessary Outlook setting into effect by clicking OK the button.
